How to report an Instagram vendor in Nigeria

If you paid an Instagram vendor and your order did not arrive, you received something different from what you ordered, a refund never came or the vendor stopped responding, keep the information you still have. It can help you properly document what happened.

Start by saving the vendor's Instagram details

Save the Instagram username you dealt with. If possible, also keep the profile link, the name showing on the page and screenshots of the profile.

Instagram pages can change usernames, profile photos and display names. A screenshot showing what the page looked like at the time of the transaction may therefore be useful.

Keep your DMs and WhatsApp chats

Many Nigerian Instagram vendors move conversations from Instagram DM to WhatsApp. If that happened, save both.

Useful messages can include the price you agreed, what you were buying, delivery promises, payment instructions, refund promises and messages you sent after the problem started.

Save the payment details

If you paid by bank transfer, keep the transfer receipt if you still have it. Also note the bank name, account number or account name you were asked to pay.

Do not edit screenshots to remove information that could help connect the payment to the transaction.

Write down exactly what happened

Keep it simple and factual. Explain what you wanted to buy, how much you paid, what the vendor promised, what happened afterwards and what you did to try to resolve it.

For example, if a vendor said a dispatch rider would deliver your order the next day and nothing arrived, include that. If the vendor later promised a refund but you never received it, include that too.

Report what happened

B4YouSend lets you submit a report about an online vendor and provide the details you still have. Your screenshots and documents are kept private and used to review the report.
